Autumn 2025 EGM — Agenda

The Edinburgh University Railway Society is holding an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) on Tuesday, 30 September 2025 at 18:30 in Lomond room, Pleasance.

• E901 — The President opens the EGM at 18:45.
• E902 — A motion to accept the proposed constitution.
• If E902 does not pass:
  • E903 — An amendment to update the clauses on non-Executive committee.
  • E904 — An amendment to update the clauses on the thresholds for motions to pass.
  • E905 — An amendment to update the clauses on Membership.
• E906 — A statement from the outgoing Treasurer.
• E907— Election of a Treasurer
• If E902 or E903 passes:
  • E908 — Election of a Vice President
• If E902 or E903 passes:
  • E909 — Election of a Railway Advocacy Officer
• E910 — The President closes the EGM.

Summary

The meeting will start at 18:45.

First, we will vote on whether to accept all the amendments in one go ('accepting the proposed constitution'). If this vote fails, we will vote on some of the amendments individually, and some amendments will be dropped.

We will then elect a Treasurer. If the vote to accept the constitution is successful, or if the votes to create Vice President and Railway Advocacy Officer roles are successful, then we will also elect people to these roles.

All members can propose constitutional amendments.
