Newcastle — important information

Hey there,

We're looking forward to seeing you on our Newcastle trip this weekend! Because this trip is a bit longer and tickets have been purchased in advance, we're emailing to share some useful information ahead of the day.

What is the schedule?

Meet us on the Edinburgh Waverley concourse at 08:30. We'll be at our usual spot, at the big pole between Costa and Pret.

Outward: 09:08 TransPennine Express service to Newcastle
Return: 18:15 TransPennine Express service to Edinburgh

It's about a 1 hour 45 train journey, which means we're due to arrive in Newcastle at about 11:00. That gives us seven hours to explore the city once we're there.

We'll meet at Newcastle station again from 17:45, but please be back by 18:00. We'll point out where we'll be meeting up again in the morning.

Where is my ticket?

We were able to get the discounted tickets for members by booking in advance and in bulk. So, the committee currently has your ticket, and you'll be able to get it from us on the morning of the trip.

Please make sure you have your booking confirmation email from EUSA. It contains a PDF with a QR code, your name, and transaction ID. The sender of the email is [email protected].

Last year it was one big group ticket for all of us. This year you will have your own individual ticket. So don't lose it once you have it!

What are we doing?

We don't have any specific plans for the day, so it's up to you! Feel free to tag along with one of the committee if you'd like, or go off in groups or on your own.

Can I leave early?

Not on your ticket. We'll be travelling using Advance Single tickets, which are booked for specific trains. This is how we were able to get the tickets for so cheap.

If you would like to leave early, you'll have to arrange alternative transport (e.g., booking another train ticket) yourself.

What if I can't make it anymore?

Please let one of the committee members know as soon as possible. We cannot guarantee a refund but we will try and find someone else to take your place, in which case we would return your money to you.
