Hey there!

RailSoc is holding its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday, 2 April 2026. We'll be meeting at 19:00 in Braid room, Pleasance, and we'd love to have you there.

As a member, it's your opportunity to decide how the society is run. We'll be voting on constitutional amendments and electing a new committee.

If you'd like to get more involved with the society, there are eight roles up for grabs. I've met so many of you on trips across the year who would make great committee members, so do consider it!

Please fill out this form to nominate yourself for election or propose a constitutional amendment. You can also click the button below. They both go to the same place. It's just nice to have options, I guess.

Nominations and Amendments

We'll be going to the pub for an impromptu RailSoc social after the meeting. I say 'the pub' but we don't actually know which one yet — we'll decide on the night. That's hopefully yet another reason to come along.

Roles for election

We will be electing members to the following roles:

  • President
  • Treasurer
  • Secretary
  • Welfare Officer
  • 4 General Committee Members

General Committee Members are able to take on specific roles within committee, depending on what they'd like to do. For example, as a Model Railway Tsar, Social Secretary, or Archivist.

You can nominate yourself using the form or choose to stand on the day.

Constitutional amendments

You can find the current constitution on our website. To be fair, it's just an overly worded and slightly complicated way of setting out how the society is supposed to run. If you have any changes you'd like to make to the constitution, let us know by filling out the AGM form.

Agenda

You can find a provisional agenda here, though it will get updated as constitutional amendments are submitted. We expect that the AGM will take about 60 minutes.
