Railsoc: Trip to Balloch!

Good evening, apologies for the delay in publishing this newsletter! Anyhow, onwards to our Februar- what's that? It's still January? Well then, welcome to January: Part 2 (Electric Boogaloo). We have a wildly exciting new trip announcement and a model rail update to let you know about! 🚂

First, remember two weeks when I told you what dates the model railway sessions would be on? Well they're all wrong - ignore them!

New model railway session dates will be weekly, on Thursdays. (Including this Thursday!) The time of 19:00 in the Activities Lounge at Pleasance still remains the same.

Anyone is welcome, even if they have never been before or modelled before!

Now for the main event! Drumroll please...

Jamie's lovely 80s inspired poster!

Our February Trip is here! We'll be voyaging to the marvellous Balloch, southern tip of Loch Lomond and featuring lovely landscapes and a castle (ooh) We will be grazing the highlands with this trip, and I am very excited to see it all!

Make sure to join us at 9:00am at Waverley Station on Saturday the 7th of February! The journey takes one hour and 50 minutes both ways, so we expect to arrive back most likely after 5:30pm. Good footwear is recommended!

£20 non-Railcard tickets making use of the promo code 'P8UCPL' (as per our last newsletter) must be bought before the first of February (That's within the next 3 days). Otherwise a return ticket will cost you £27.

If you have a Railcard, you can buy your tickets on the day, as normal, for £17.95.

We look forward to seeing you!

If you ever wanted to know what we get up to on our trips, last week we had a lovely time in North Berwick, and whilst brave souls ascended the Law, a few of us decided the best course of action was to play the world's dampest game of cricket.

Thank you to our Welfare Officer Mable for this rather artistic photo!

That will be all for today! Thank you all very much for reading, and I wish you all a trainful week, and a very Ballochful 7th of February! 🚉

Best, Liam
