Welcome to the RailSoc website

Hey — if you're reading this, you've made it to the new RailSoc website! Not that you needed me to tell you that. After all, it says 'Edinburgh Uni Railway Society' at the top of the page and our domain is railsoc.eu. (You can pretend that .eu stands for 'Edinburgh University' and not 'European Union', if you like). The point I'm trying to make is that this exists and it works.

Running the website ourselves means we have more flexibility with customisation and content. It will allow us to set up a proper archive, too. That's in progress, and I'll work on copying across content from our old blog, as well as information about previous trips and socials, in the coming weeks — you'll start to see it soon.

It's RailSoc's little corner of the internet; a spot where we can share who we are, what we're interested in, and what we're doing. I'd also like to publish some articles for a more general audience, such as recommendations for day trips based on where we've been as a society. This website is what we make of it, so I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes.

If you spot anything wrong with the website, have a suggestion, or would even like to contribute content, let me know! I'm around on the RailSoc Discord server, but if you'd prefer, you can also message us on Instagram or send us an email.

And, before you go — you might have noticed a 'sign in' button in the navigation menu. If you are a member, you can sign in to manage your email subscription preferences. You can independently toggle the newsletter and Annual and Emergency General Meeting notifications.

Matriculated students should use their student number-derived [email protected] address; associate members should use the email address registered with the Students' Association. You'll then be emailed a link to log in, just be sure to check your spam box.

See you around!
